Front Sight Putting Guns In Schools Is the Solution
According to Dr. Ignatius Piazza, founder and director of Front Sight Firearms Training Institute, the solution to school shootings is getting teachers at all schools concealed carry training. Dr. Piazza wants to give free handgun training to appointed Safety Monitors so that they can return to their schools and safeguard the lives of those they give their lives to educate. Dr. Piazza is fed up with stories of teachers giving up their lives to protect the lives of students during school shootings. He wants to make it possible for teachers to defend the lives of their students, so they can all continue devoting their lives to educating and empowering their students.
But it’s not only him one can listen to in order to hear pro-arming teachers arguments. Featured in the Sierra Times, retired law enforcement firearms instructor, Mike Waidelich from Bakersfield, Calif., strongly supports the Front Sight concept of arming and training teachers. “Nearly every tragedy on or off school grounds in the entire 30 years of my law enforcement career could have been prevented or the damage done considerably limited, by the presence of an armed and trained individual. Had the teachers at Santana been properly trained and gone for their guns, the death and injury toll could have been considerably reduced. That statement alone, that teachers with guns would have prevented most of the damage done in school shootings, made by a cop, should be enough to convince most opponents of the idea of arming teachers of how necessary it is to do so. Dr. Ignatius Piazza has devoted his life to educating Americans in gun training, he now wants to give teachers free concealed carry training, which would include plenty of training on mental awareness, stopping techniques, awareness on when to shoot and other such matters. Arming our teachers is absolutely necessary, and any school can afford the price tag on Dr. Piazza’s offer.
